Fenty Pro’Fltr Hydrating Longwear Foundation-First Impressions and Wear Test

Written by PrettyGirlPeeps

Rihanna and her Fenty Beauty Brand have came out with a new foundation and guess what it’s been coined as the foundation must have for us girls with normal to dry skin. ( Even though pregnancy has made my skin more combination more than anything). The foundation was just released for mass consumption on 8/15/19 or yesterday at Fentybeauty.com and Sephora as well. The foundation comes in 50 shades and is said to be an exact match to whatever color you were in the matte foundation selection. I personally found this true as I am still in the shade 370 (  for tan skin with warm neutral undertones). The packaging is not a glass bottle this time but instead more of a squeeze tube format but is still 1.08 Fl. Oz of product for $35 flat. Here is how the packaging describes the foundation: Hydrating, medium to full coverage for all skin tones, longwear, light as air.

Initial Reactions

I really enjoyed the lightweight airy feel of this foundation as it blended on my face, it was really easy to blend and I really enjoyed that. It feels like you don’t have anything on your face at all which can be a good or bad thing depending on your coverage preference. If I had to rate this coverage wise, I’d say its light coverage but with the ability to build to medium coverage. I like that the foundation looks very natural and like skin once applied. For this first impression, I used Milk Hydro Grip Primer to Prime and the Fenty Beauty Setting Powder in Cashew to set certain areas, I set the entire face with Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

2 Hours Thoughts

To me personally, the foundation still looks the same as when I applied it two hours ago it really hasn’t started to peek through or lose it’s gleam yet and that I can appreciate.

4 Hour Thoughts

Now the foundation is starting to get a little oily on my forehead area but still not horribly bad or anything that some blotting paper couldn’t control or using a heavier setting powder.

8 hour Thoughts

The foundation has begun to wear down a tad bit but still doesn’t look horrible to me. My forehead is definitely oily now along with the sides of my nose everywhere else is still in place just starting to fade a little bit.

12 Hour Thoughts

Still not bad but this is prob the maximum at this point.

Final/Overall Thoughts

I like this foundation for a more everyday look like a matinee movie, happy hour with the girls, or just for work everyday. I think this look is too natural if you’re used to camera ready face for say an event or date night. But I think if you want something that will make your skin look like skin and give a skin like but covered appearance in person, I think you’ll like this foundation. I had a little bout with oiliness on my forehead but I think in the winter this foundation will be perfect for more everyday natural looks, so I will prob keep this one as an every day grab for some of my more tame looks. I also went easy with the setting powder and face in general so over the weekend I plan to try it with an all out look and see how I feel about it. I think if you only need this to work from 9-5 you could do that with this foundation, however, if you’re going to an event where you will be dancing or sweating this may not be the foundation for you. I will give an update next week and possibly a video once I find the perfect combo of products. I just wanted to come and initially try out the foundation and give my unbiased first impression on this makeup. I will personally be keeping this one as a dry skinned girl for my everyday looks and for the fall and winter when we get less sun.
